Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 140

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!

Did you see your shadow this morning? If you did, I believe that means you'll have 7 more weeks of great poster hunting. Hey! How fab! Happy groundhog Day!  Love any reason to celebrate...so why not celebrate Groundhog Day with a bonus post? And to get things started, we have...

GROUNDHOG DAY:

I saw this movie a long while back. i don't remember much other than the day kept being repeated over and over and over...but I wanted the poster because, for a while, I was posting posters with all holidays by my front door (NEW YEAR'S EVIL, MY BLOODY VALENTINE, HALLOWEEN, etc.) I needed a GROUNDHOG DAY!

CANNIBAL TERROR (Canadian):

Silly cannibal flick I saw sometime last year. It's awful...in a fun way. I like my cannibal flicks, but this one is laughable. Towards the end, deep in the remote jungle in the cannibal village, cars can be seen driving in the background. Ha! I'd love to have this poster in English, but don't think that will happen. So, I'll just stick with this Canadian poster in French.

HITLER'S LAST TRAIN (Canadian):

A Nazisploitation flick poster.... I could have done without it, but it was cheap. From Canada but in French.

SS EXPERIMENT CAMP (Canadian):

Along with the cannibal movie poster and the other Nazisploitation poster, I picked this up largely because it was cheap.

SWAMP GIRL:

Ferlin Husky? Who is he? He is featured in two other posters I have--LAS VEGAS HILLBILLIES and HILLBILLIES IN A HAUNTED HOUSE--but beyond that, i have no idea who he is. I got this poster largely because I recognize it as a Something Weird title. But I have never seen it.,

PLEASE DON'T EAT MY MOTHER:

I have one of these, but this was cheap and in really decent condition---sold!

BLOOD VOYAGE:

I knew NOTHING about this movie before buying this poster. I've since looked into it---not seen it, just read up on it--and it sounds like a big piece o' crap with more nudity than violence/blood shed. The reviews I've seen are mostly negative... But that is OKAY. I still think the poster art is incredible. That's why I bought it the instant I saw it. Zowie! It's so cool.

THE HAUNTED PALACE:

Yahoo!  I scored another of those wonderful old VINCENT PRICE / A.I.P. Poe horror posters. THE HAUNTED PALACE is a great poster and, in addition to Vincent Price, also features LON CHANEY and DEBRA PAGET. Awesome.

GREAT WHITE:

I already have a copy or two of this notorious JAWS rip-off (Universal sued over copyright infringement...and WON! I was lucky enough to see this in the theater the day before it was yanked from the theater). I didn't need to spend the money on this copy, but I couldn't let it go so cheap either.

JAWS 2 (Red Advance):

I already have a copy of this poster---but this one is in ultra pristine shape...C-9, according to Heritage Auctions...but that is the confusing part. This is a rarer form of JAWS 2 poster in c-9 tri-fold shape that I got for less than the one that sold on eMovie just before Thanksgiving (in not as nice shape as this one) that Heritage sold--not in their weekly auctions, but as a Buy It Now on eBay for less than I even paid for my other copy (also not in nearly as nice condition). WHAT!?! It had obviously just been posted---it had 29 days and many hours left to go. I didn't take a chance and just snagged it while the snagging was good. There were already several other "watchers". Not as rare as the other poster (with the artwork used on the soundtrack album of the shark coming up on the small sail boat with a young teen guy in the water and his panicked girlfriend in the boat), but still quasi-rare. Whoo hoo. I'm so thrilled to get this.

And now, go out and get your groundhog on!  (Whatever that might mean...).

CHEERS!

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2023: #10

Welcome back! I certainly did NOT expect to have any further posts with new purchases this 2023 calendar year, but here we are. Granted, most of these are holdover purchases from my temporary poster-buying insanity in October. I’d expected those to be the foundation for whatever post I kicked off the new year with. But now? I had a few more pick ups… Why hold back? Let’s send 2023 out with a real BANG! Christmas came a little early this year. Uh oh… The lights are dimming. Take your seats. Let’s see what I have for you this time… GIRL IN GOLD BOOTS:  Not a great poster, but one I’ve been after for a while. This flick is an exploitationer from legendary B man Ted V. Mikels (CORPSE GRINDERS, ASTRO-ZOMBIES, BLOOD ORGY OF THE SHE-DEVILS, etc.). I saw it years ago. I don’t remember much other than that there is a girl (who wears gold go-go boots) who is a dancer (and maybe sings?) and is somehow involved in the criminal underworld. Like a lot of Mikels’ films…it doesn’t leave an indelible m

Welcome! Get your tickets and take your seat. The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show is about to begin. I am still disabled and only getting worse…yet, uh, um…I’m spending money on my ADDICTION to posters that I really have NO BUSINESS doing. Why? Because I am STUPID. (But I LOVE staring at them…) Waaaaagh! Anyway—-my stupidity is your viewing pleasure (or however you want to term it…).  Here we go… THE LADY IN THE MORGUE (1942 RE-RELEASE) : This isn't something that I'd usually buy. I've never seen this old mystery/whodunit flick. Despite this being a re-release poster (The original, with completely different art, hails from 1938.), I decided to go ahead and buy this 81-year-old gem for several reasons. I like the monster-ish hands reaching in at the couple. I dig the purple/green color scheme. The old school font is awesome...and one of its co-stars is Barbara Pepper, who brilliantly played Mrs. Ziffel (Arnold the pig's "mom") on GREEN ACRES. Ha! The most important r

And, what!?! We're B-A-C-K!!! That was...quick. (It just seems that way as I delayed the previous post until I finished my write up on my Something Weird Video adrventure, which I had linked to the page. I've already been working on this one for several weeks.) Truth be told, though, about half of these became mine in a 12 hour period. It is no secret that I am now disabled. I live on a VERY modest income with very little in the bank to fall back on. There is a saying, "You can't take it with you." There should also be a saying that says "You can't enjoy it if you don't have it." That seemed to have been my mindset during a recent eMovieposter auction. Despite the fact that everything was on linen--there were so many titles I wanted. Things were fairly cheap...until the very end. But... Geez! Dipping into my meager savings was... EXTREMELY STUPID and FOOLISH.  But, it happened. Let's take a look: PRO BALL CHEERLEADERS: What the hell is this
