Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 119

September 28, 2016, 04:53:38 PM

Taking a break from the posters in the boxes, here is the first video of my framed posters. These are just posters I have moved over so far and stored in the guest bedroom closets. The ones in the poster room are a bit hard to get to as they are wedged in between the wall and the desk. I'll get to those eventually though...as well as all of the others once I get them moved.  For now, I hope these work for you.

CHEERS!

I'm feeling much better today, but still super tired. So I dug out all of the framed posters in the poster room and did a video with them. Some of my most-prized posters (and some tacky crap as well. Ha!) are in this lot (well--before I moved to the shack-a-rama anyway). The video is below (and it's still loading/processing. So be patient please... About 40 minutes left to go-go).

I'll do a video of the rest of my framed posters as I get them moved over. There are just two framed posters here I have not shared yet...because they have framing issues at the moment I need to address.  I'll swap out some of the "lesser" posters for some of my newer acquisitions (my 1956 KING KONG for example, BLOOD FEAST, BEACH PARTY, WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST, ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE, etc. etc. etc.) after I do videos of the framed posters as they are now. I'll share the newly framed posters afterwards.

Here is the video of my second batch of framed posters:

Watch it or don't (but let it load first...still got about 30 minutes to go...)

Thanks for bothering to look.

CHEERS!

September 30, 2016, 11:29:25 PM

Hey there. I got another batch of framed posters home today. Still a LOT over there to bring back. There is a video of my 3rd set of framed posters below. These are clearly not my favorites. There are several I've already mentally removed from their frames. I'll do some changing out later (in a few weeks).

Okay--here's the video of the framed posters I brought home today...

Oh my stars! The move drags on... I brought another load over tonight. ARGH!  There are still MORE poster tubes over there and MORE framed posters. I have TOO MANY POSTERS! I have no idea where I'm going to stash them all. The hall closet as well as the poster room closet are FULL of tubes. The other bedroom closets have framed posters in them---and there's no room for anything else.  And let me say it now---i HATE rolled posters. Not only do the tubes take up so much room---but I was trying to go through some and consolidate them...and they are impossible to work with. GRRR. Remind me to never buy any more rolled posters. I prefer folded (for storage convenience).

Here's tonight's haul of framed posters I brought home:

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024 #5

And I'm back... This, I think, will be my final post of new posters. I had a few leftover posters from last time...and got others to fill out this post and get this done. I can't afford anything anymore and really, with my diminishing health, I should STOP collecting.  TANYA'S ISLAND: This was a cheap grab. I've never seen the movie, but have long wanted this poster. It's so doofy looking. This movie has been on my radar since its release--and it is amazingly hard to find. (As I said, I have NOT seen it yet.) From what I understand, it's basically KING KONG, but with a normal-sized ape (aka man in a bad moneky suit--based on the pictures I've seen) and a bit naughtier. (Hence the R-rating.) D.D. Winters is better known as Vanity, Prince's protegee back in the 80s. She apparently spends a good deal of the time naked. It's supposed to be bad. (No surprise.) I'd still like to see it. HOT DOG: THE MOVIE: I don't know why I bought this. I'm...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024: Special Edition #1

Welcome back to the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. This edition is a bit different. As you may know, with certain exceptions that may come my way, I've by and large stopped buying posters. This post isn't about new posters. Instead it is about my first experiencing linenbacking posters.  If you've read any of my posts before, you will know that I am NO FAN of linenbacked posters. However, as my collecting days were slowing/coming to an end, getting things on linen seemed to be the only way I'd be ever able to enjoy certain posters if I wanted them. I now have several linenbacked posters in my collection. I'm about to have four more... I am still working through a move I made 2 years ago. I am trying to get  my poster collection organized in some sort of manner. I am still going through boxes and tubes, trying to frame them or add them to my flat file drawers (or set them aside for either auction or to donate to thrift stores). During one such effort to (stupidly) pull...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024: #6

I wasn't planning on buying any more posters. On top of all of my other many health ailments, I have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. That is effectively taking me out of the game permanently. However, I have a handful of posters I had purchased or had bids on (but didn't expect to win). These leftovers (and there are -- gasp! --15 of them!?!) I'm not planning on sharing on other poster websites as I usually do. They are just here to be complete. THE ANTICHRIST (Australian) : I love the EXORCIST ripoffs.  THE ANTICHRIST isn't one of the better ones--but, this is a poster I hadn't seen before...and it was cheap. CARNAL MADNESS: Never heard of this one--which is why I bought it. EVIL DEAD (2009 re-release) : Not that I needed this (I have the original one sheet already), I thought it would be fun to pick up this rerelease one sheet from Grindhouse Releaseing. MALIBU HORROR STORY: I had a couple of these already. However, both were damaged (one severely so). I c...
