Monster A GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show

  Welcome back! Yes, I survived my surgery and am STILL collecting (aka addicted to) movie posters. I have no money and am now swimming in medical debt. I still face cancer treatments in the months (and years?) ahead. I have NO BUSINESS wasting money on posters—-but I’ll be dead a lot longer than I’ll ever be alive…. And I realize I’m coming to the end of my road sooner rather than later. Why the hell NOT indulge and enjoy my passion? Hopefully my future heirs can cash in on what I have collected, too. It’s a win/win situation. Ha! Here’s what I have this time: HEART EYES ( promotional valentines ): I never got to see HEART EYES, a valentine-themed horror movie that came (but not in my neck of the woods) and went with little fanfare just a few weeks ago. While I realize this is not a poster and is instead a promotional item for a movie (In the past, I have included several promotional things in lieu of posters, such as a bird mask promoting THE BIRDS, various vomit bags, a rubber c...

Well, 2024 is coming to a close. It's time once again to go through the year's purchases and touch on the favorites I picked up through the year. This was a light year for purchases for me--and next year I expect will be even more sparse, if there are any at all. But I was able to eek out 10 (actually 11) faves for 2024 and here they are: (Honorable Mention) HOUSE OF THE DEAD: I don't have much this year to warrant an "honorable mention". I would probably have used this poster in the #10 spot...except the one there I had been after for sooooo long (despite the movie turning out to be snore-inducing when I finally saw it). This poster I had never seen before--not am I familair with the movie. it probably sucks, but I liked the artwork on the poster---so that is why I chose to include it--honorable mention or not. 10):   THE MONSTER OF PIEDRAS BLANCAS  and  OKEFENOKEE  (combo) : I have been after this poster for decades--long before I ever saw the yawn-inducing film...

  Welcome back! I certainly NEVER expected to be back with another Shock-O-Rama Poster Show, yet here I am. Sure, maybe a "special edition" (about hanging posters or framing them, etc.) would have popped up--but one with "new" posters? No. I have cancer and have been going through chemo for the last four months. Why buy posters if I wind up dead? I resisted for a long time, but...here I am, binging (and mostly on CRAP!). There are 14 here...instead of my ususual 10. I haven't been keeping track of the (utter trash) I've been buying. So, as best I can figure out, for better or worse (mostly worse), these are my new purchases since May or June. I am pulling this together as I realized it's the end of the year--and a "best of 2024" should happen. O' the fun... NOT!   Oh, hi there. You caught me. I was supposed to be away visiting California until February 17th. However, I had to come back home for something unexpectedly. I'll be here another 2 weeks before I head back to California to finish out my planned visit. Boring stuff, I know. But, since you ARE here... I guess I could show you what I have added to my collection since we were last together several months ago. I have to be quick though as I only have a little time here. Ohhh! There go the lights.   Another year down, another year of posters passes. Although my poster purchasing took a huge nosedive this year, the poster gods still smiled on me. I actually managed to eke out some decent paper this year--not spectacular, but decent. In ascending order, here are my top 10 scores for the year: 10) CRUEL JAWS : Here's a prime example of the phrase 'One man's trash is another man's treasure.' Although this is in rough-ish shape ("Good to Very Good"), I love my JAWS ripoffs. CRUEL JAWS is one of the worst (cobbled together using footage from other JAWS ripoffs, including the the one Universal sued for copyright infringement and won, GREAT WHITE aka THE LAST SHARK ). I had NEVER seen a poster for it before--or since. A search on eMovie's archives shows that this poster is the only copy they've ever sold. I am so glad I got it.
