The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025: Special Edition #2: The Best of 2025

Another year has come to a close… And what do I have to show for it? Posters, posters, posters! Despite my continued battle with cancer and second round of chemo, lasting six months… It has been an amazingly bumper crop for posters this year. Zowie! In fact, instead of 10, I’m gonna share 20 of my favorite purchases of 2025. So sit back and let the poster goodness wash over you. Here we go:

As bad as this awful movie is, you can’t deny that the poster is awesome It is certainly better than the movie itself. It actually has little to do with the movie. Ha ha ha. I was glad to pick this up even though I could’ve bought it years ago at a much cheaper price. I didn’t appreciate the actual artwork because I hated hated hated the movie so much. I’m super glad to have this now and it will be going up on a wall eventually

ORGY OF THE DEAD:
Zowie! I never ever ever thought I would have one of these. Ed Wood titles are so hard to come by. Yes, this has condition problems Yes, it has a missing corner. But if I didn’t buy it in such a less than pristine condition, I probably never would’ve gotten one of these. Woo hoo for me. I’m sure Criswell made a startling prediction that I would own a copy someday… And lo and behold here it is, in gorgeous and shocking ASTRAVISION and SEXICOLOR. Whoo hoo!

Another rare, Andy Milligan poster is mine. And I’ve been after one of these for such a long time. They truly are rare and hard to come across. I’ve only seen two for sale and I stupidly let the first one slipped through my fingers. Glad I scored this one ….but it had a much higher price. The poster is not only rare, but the film is considered lost.

Oh my stars! I love love love this creepy poster. I also saw the film and it was utterly bizarre. I don’t know what demand for this poster will be overtime… Probably not that great as the film has already fallen into obscurity… after only a few months. Hopefully, it’ll be rediscovered, and the poster will be a sought after piece. I think it’s creepy as heck… And I was thrilled to get it

FLASH GORDON (Italian):
I’ve been after this Italian version for quite a while. I think  The art is stunning. It’s very different than the US version. It kind of reminds me of the artwork on the re-release of BARBARELLA. It’s simply stunning.

Wow! I have been after one of these forever… You’d think this Irwin Alan production would be easier to track down. It’s not. This is one of the earliest movies I remember seeing on TV as a kid. It took me forever to figure out what it was called later in life. For years, I thought it might be THE LAST CONTINENT. But when I track down that film down, it clearly was not the right. No, this one had the narrow trail leading down from a mesa through a cavern filled with lava and prehistoric monsters. Wow, wow wow! I was totally awed as a child by this flick. And now I got the one sheet. Whoo hoo!

I believe this is the last of the AIP Edgar Allan Poe posters that I needed to complete my collection. Hooray! As he is in most of the Poe adaptations, Vincent Price, Price stars

INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (Linen)
You would think I would’ve gotten this years ago… Nope. I’m thrilled to have a copy, but I wish it wasn’t on linen. Oh well. I’ll take it.

NAVY VERSUS THE NIGHT MONSTERS:

TERRIFIER 3 (Italian international style):
Finding original paper for any of the TERRIFIER movies is difficult. I felt extremely fortunate to land this Italian international style poster For the third film in the series. These films are bad shit crazy and gruesome. I wish they would explain what art the clown is exactly… But at the same time, I’m kind of glad they don’t. The poster is wonderfully and suitably terrifying with just his frightening face on it.

THE GHOST THAT WALKS ALONE (linen):
I had never heard of this horror comedy mystery before. But I really dug the old school look… So, I was happy to snag it. It is unfortunate that it id on linen though.

FIEND OF DOPE ISLAND:
While the poster isn’t much to look at, and the movie is god awful… I am thrilled to have such a rare piece of trashy explotation movie history. Hooray!

A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (re-release lenticular):

If you bother to read any of my posts from 2025, you’ll see that I scored a copy of this lenticular earlier in the year. I was thrilled to finally have one. Except, when I put it in the light box, it was evident there was a big scratch all through it. Oh crap. Getting it return was a big drama. In fact, the seller just finally refunded me and told me to keep it because it was too expensive to send back. Fine. I had a scratch copy that I would never display shoved in my closet. Ho hum. Then, not long later, another copy came to my attention. This one I got for far less money. Hooray! I have the original release lenticular… But this one is really cool. I love that. Sally is using one of her arms to get some of the popcorn. Hilarious. And, if you know me and my love of gimmicks, you know I am super thrilled to have this 3-D lenticular in my collection

BEWARE THE BLACK WIDOW:
I love those sleazy, pre-X-rated “adult” films from the 60s that were a huge staple of Something Weird Video. Doris Wishman was my favorite director… But there are so many others, like Joe Sarno, the Findlay’s, even Herschel Gordon Lewis cranked some out. I’m not familiar with this title, but I am familiar with the star Sharon Kent. Whether I’ve seen this movie or not isn’t a big deal. I’m just thrilled to get paper on something from this era. There can’t be many of these floating around. Very cool.

THE DEADLY MANTIS:
wow wow wow! I can’t believe my luck in getting this… After all of these years. And it’s an amazing shape! A giant creature classic…Zowie! You gotta love that art!

REVENGE OF THE CREATURE:

Was it only 2025 when I got this? It seems like I’ve had this longer. But I guess not. I have an original release of.THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US, And a re-release (How sad… Only a re-release ) for the original creature… But paper on the second film had been elluding me for so long. Here it is though! It’s framed and waiting to go on a wall… As soon as construction is finished within my house. (Long story, never mind.) I’m thrilled to have this poster, even though it’s not in the most pristine of shape. The only true disappointment in this poster for me is that nowhere on it does it mention that the movie is in 3-D. However, we all know that it was and is in 3-D. And just look at those monster graphics! Zowie!!! I’m so stoked to have this.

ZOMBIES ON BROADWAY:
I really expected this to be my favorite purchase of the year when I got it. This is not the greatest movie ever. In fact, it’s kind of lame. However, even before I ever saw this movie, I was totally in love with the title. How silly is that? ZOMBIES ON BROADWAY???? Ha ha ha ha ha! However, not only does this film star, Bela, Lugosi, and the Martin and Lewis knockoff team of Brown and Carney, it has some very cool graphics… Perfect for a haunted tiki bar. I love it! I’ve been after one for years. The closest I’ve come so far is a half sheet, but this… Fantastic! I’m so thrilled.

HOUSE OF DRACULA (military re-release):
OK,… So it’s just a re-release and a military re-release at that, but I will take it. How else am I gonna get any universal monster paper? Jeepers… About half of my universal monster paper is… No, that’s not true. Maybe a third or less?… Is military re-release posters. I don’t care. I’ll take it. THE GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN, THE WOLFMAN, FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLFMAN, and now this one. There’s no shame in having these. Especially since the originals are so damn expensive.

THE INVISIBLE MAN RETURNS (re-release):
Vincent Price stars in this sequel with my favorite (???) artwork …at least as far as the re-releases go. You can’t see (ha!) how THRILLED I am to have this.

HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER (recalled original release):
This is something I thought I would never own. Wow wow wow! If you don’t know this movie, I highly recommend it. Sure it’s bleak and harrowing but it’s also incredibly well done. Michael Rooker is just phenomenal in the title role. Don’t bother with the sequel. But wow wow wow! I can’t believe this is mine.

And those are my picks for my favorite purchases of 2025. What did you get? Anything groovy? I hope so. Here’s to a year of great poster collecting with 2026!

Whoo hoo!

Cheers!

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #12

Hi there. Yes, I’m back again. Really, I was in a weird, crazed buying frenzy recently. I have enough posters for at least one and a half more posts… But I’ll try to pace myself and hold back a bit. These aren’t that exciting. Actually, neither is the next batch. The batch after that has one or two things I’m especially excited about, but we’ll have to see what trickles in to fill the rest of that post up. But I’m getting ahead of myself. We are on this post. Let’s take a gander at it,  shall we? I hope it won’t be too disappointing. Perhaps there’ll be a poster on here or two that you haven’t seen before. THE QUIET EARTH: While I think I’ve heard of this movie before, and I think I may have seen this poster before, I’m not quite sure. If I have seen this poster before, I don’t think I actually owned it. Like my last post, this has a few posters that were part of several lots. No, I am not posting all of the posters in the lots. Not all of them appealed to me. This one, thou...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #13

Hello. Here we are again. There’s nothing new to see here. Every poster is either VHS-era garbage or something you’ve seen before. There is one outlier that doesn’t seem to belong, but it’s one that I’ve been looking for forever. Even though I wasn’t actively looking for it when I finally got it. Huh? Never mind. Let’s just take a look and see what we have today… CURSE III: BLOOD SACRIFICE (video) :  I don’t know what I was thinking when I decided to track down the posters for THE CURSE series . For those who have never seen it or heard of it, THE CURSE series is a mostly direct-to-video series of horror flick that are NOT related to each other at all, except by title. I have the theatrical (I think) one sheet for the original movie. I’m not sure if I have a copy of the part two poster or not, and I may have copies of parts three and four already… Or not. I am not sure. But here is the poster for CURSE III: BLOOD SACRIFICE. Yes, as you can, guess, it was cheap. Did I see the movie...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #11

Welcome back. Now that the James Bond stuff is out of the way (see my last post), I can trudge to some B-movie stuff. A lot of this stuff came from lot purchases. I have a lot of these posters already, and have shared them in previous posts. Not all of the posters from the various lot purchases will be shared. Don’t panic. I’ve just decided to share these as a way to look back at these B-flicks and reflect on them a bit. THE MEPHISTO WALTZ: This was an early movie in the 70s satanic panic cycle, that was started with ROSEMARY’S BABY in the mid 60s. If you haven’t seen it, you’re not really missing much. What I do remember most from the commercials was a dog with a human head. Imagine my annoyance when it just turned out to be a dog with a mask on its head that someone placed on it as a joke. There was no “human headed” dog in the plot. Alan Alda I identify so much with being Hawkeye on M*A*S*H, that it’s hard to see him in this movie. At least for me, this is an instance where it’s har...
