The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show -- WRONG poster: The RESOLUTION!#

Yesterday I posted about an auction I had won and how I had received the WRONG poster from the auction house. I was crushed. So, I went to the auction house's website and sent a note through their "contact us" link. I wrote: Hi there. I know this is probably way too late to fix. I was just opening some packages I hadn't gotten to and one was from you. On Dec. 3, I won the unrated blue style of the DRILLER KILLER poster. As I was opening the package this evening, I noticed it was the black R-Rated style. UGH!  I don't suppose whoever got the blue one returned it, did they? ARGH! I realize mistakes happen, but UGH.  Any suggestions or ideas? Thank you. I didn't hear anything back for more than 24 hours. However this morning, I received this response: Hi Shawn, I am so sorry to hear that. Let me look into it and I'll get back to you asap. I dont handle shipping. Thanks, About an hour after that, another response popped up:

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show -- Newly Framed and the WRONG Poster#

Hi there. This isn't a post about new acquisitions (although I do have one I am working on). This is just a general update on a few posters I've recently framed...and my sharing about an auction house's mistake that has me so bummed out. First the mistake. On December 3, 2017. I "won" the unrated blue-style poster for "DRILLER KILLER".  I mentioned it in my post on Dec. 23rd. Hooray! Here it is again below: The holidays and life in general got in the way and it was only last night (January 23, 2018) that I finally got around to opening some poster packages that had arrived in the last few weeks. One of them was the "Driller Killer" poster and...  That's NOT the right poster! Oh my stars! Here it is about 6 weeks later and...argh! I just now discover the auction house people sent me the wrong poster. The black R-Rated style was also up the same day, but I didn't want it and didn't even bother bidding on it. On my

December 03, 2015, 01:19:42 AM  Okay, okay...here's a 4th posting. Whoo hoo! With the close of escrow on my house sale coming either late this week or early next week, I thought I'd do a mini-salute to real estate in movie posters! LA CASA (aka EVIL DEAD ) (Italian) : Let's take a look at this first house... LA CASA is the name they stuck on THE EVIL DEAD when it first played in Italy.  That kind of makes sense--it's an acceptable title---except the house in the movie looks NOTHING like the house depicted on the poster. LA CASA 2 (aka EVIL DEAD 2 ) (Italian) : Our next stunning model home is none other than EVIL DEAD 2, of course. It has high ceilings, low floors and things in the basement best left alone... LA CASA 3 (aka GHOSTHOUSE ) (Italian) : I know. I know...  You were expecting ARMY OF DARKNESS when we got to our lovely third CASA, weren't you? WRONG! Those wacky Italians who pay so little attention to things like copyrights

Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 65

December 02, 2015, 11:12:16 PM Zowie!  This looks to be my THIRD posting in less than 24 hours. Today is an educational post...sharing things I've learned by mistakes I've made...or just from sampling things and realizing now what I like and don't like. Gingerman, we've already talked. e, glad you liked the posters...and THANKS for posting the trailer. The commercial was shorter--just the lady brushing her hair. But i had totally forgotten about those trippy, organic-looking breathing letters. Wow!  Whoever put that ad together was brilliant. Steve, glad you liked the one poster I thought of you with and BRAIN OF BLOOD. I agree that BOB has a wonderfully cheezy/sleazy/horror feel to it that is hard to resist. Okay, here are the next 10: AMERICAN GRAFFITI (Italian pressbook) : I recently got a US "American Graffiti" even though I'm not a huge fan of the movie. When I stumbled on this...looking so perfect and pristine...and CHEAP...I was bes

December 02, 2015, 06:29:32 PM Okay... Shake the sh*t off of your shoes from the last slog through the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show.  Today's post should (hopefully) be better than yesterday's post. Let's take a look... (Just don't let your expectations get too high...): A BLADE IN THE DARK (Italian) : Believe it or not, but when I bought this, I had no idea what the US title was. I just liked the spooky art. It was only when I saw it again online that I realized it was A BLADE IN THE DARK. Are you sitting down? Although I have the DVD, I don't think I've ever seen it. I'm so bad. I have all of these classic Italian horror and giallos on DVD...just never got around to watching them. Where does the time go? (Oh yes...it goes shopping for posters! Duh!) SUSPIRIA (Japanese Chirashi) : I HAVE seen SUSPIRIA several times. Great music, great use of color, great Italian horror! I didn't see it until the video age, but I do remember vividly w

Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 63

December 02, 2015, 12:13:37 AM I'm B-A-C-K from my Thanksgiving trip and short hiatus from the boards. I'll be on and off throughout the month before I go on my big hiatus...where I plan to only visit about once a month throughout 2016. Last April when I hit 50, it was my intention to slow down and only buy posters on my bucket list. That kind of fell by the wayside when I discovered the joys (and seductive temptations) of foreign posters!  Italian, French, Mexican, Spanish, German, THAI (! ! ! ! !), Japanese, Belgian, Polish, etc. Instead of buying bucket list titles, i was buying everything and anything on the planet...including a bunch of US crap-ola I didn't need. So, once 2016 hits, I'll be trying to switch gears again. But more on that plan later... In the meantime, I have a bunch of new stuff i'll share throughout the coming weeks (before 2016 pops up, anyway). This first batch for the last month of 2015 is snore/bore-inducing. Here is the absolute d
