The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show -- WRONG poster: The RESOLUTION!#

Yesterday I posted about an auction I had won and how I had received the WRONG poster from the auction house. I was crushed.

So, I went to the auction house's website and sent a note through their "contact us" link. I wrote:

Hi there.

I know this is probably way too late to fix. I was just opening some packages I hadn't gotten to and one was from you. On Dec. 3, I won the unrated blue style of the DRILLER KILLER poster. As I was opening the package this evening, I noticed it was the black R-Rated style. UGH!  I don't suppose whoever got the blue one returned it, did they? ARGH! I realize mistakes happen, but UGH.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thank you.

I didn't hear anything back for more than 24 hours. However this morning, I received this response:

Hi Shawn,

I am so sorry to hear that. Let me look into it and I'll get back to you asap. I dont handle shipping.

Thanks,

About an hour after that, another response popped up:

Hi Shawn,

Scott is out at the moment but from our records it appears that the buyer has never paid for it. So I will have it pulled and shipped to you.

Sorry for the error but at least it will have a good resolution. I very much appreciate your business and support.

Many thanks,

Wowzer! I was so excited. But I sent this response:

Shall I send the black one back then? Where do I send it?

Thanks

And I heard this back:

No just keep it with my apologies.

Best,

To which i responded:

Zowie! Thank you so much! Very kind of you.

CHEERS!

It IS a happy ending all around...and I get a BONUS poster in the process. Ha! THANK YOU so much! (I'll refrain from saying which auction house it was as I do not want to give them any BAD PR for the mix up in the first place. But I am just thrilled with the outcome. Sooooo nice of them.

CHEERS!

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024 #5

And I'm back... This, I think, will be my final post of new posters. I had a few leftover posters from last time...and got others to fill out this post and get this done. I can't afford anything anymore and really, with my diminishing health, I should STOP collecting.  TANYA'S ISLAND: This was a cheap grab. I've never seen the movie, but have long wanted this poster. It's so doofy looking. This movie has been on my radar since its release--and it is amazingly hard to find. (As I said, I have NOT seen it yet.) From what I understand, it's basically KING KONG, but with a normal-sized ape (aka man in a bad moneky suit--based on the pictures I've seen) and a bit naughtier. (Hence the R-rating.) D.D. Winters is better known as Vanity, Prince's protegee back in the 80s. She apparently spends a good deal of the time naked. It's supposed to be bad. (No surprise.) I'd still like to see it. HOT DOG: THE MOVIE: I don't know why I bought this. I'm...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024: #6

I wasn't planning on buying any more posters. On top of all of my other many health ailments, I have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. That is effectively taking me out of the game permanently. However, I have a handful of posters I had purchased or had bids on (but didn't expect to win). These leftovers (and there are -- gasp! --15 of them!?!) I'm not planning on sharing on other poster websites as I usually do. They are just here to be complete. THE ANTICHRIST (Australian) : I love the EXORCIST ripoffs.  THE ANTICHRIST isn't one of the better ones--but, this is a poster I hadn't seen before...and it was cheap. CARNAL MADNESS: Never heard of this one--which is why I bought it. EVIL DEAD (2009 re-release) : Not that I needed this (I have the original one sheet already), I thought it would be fun to pick up this rerelease one sheet from Grindhouse Releaseing. MALIBU HORROR STORY: I had a couple of these already. However, both were damaged (one severely so). I ...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024 #4

Hello. Welcome back. Today's offerings are...rather unexciting for the most part. As I've said many times before, my poster-buying power has been greatly diminished. I fear my post-buying days are wrapping up, too. The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show may be finally coming to a close in the near future. For now though, here's the latest of what I have to share with you today: KING FRAT: This was a fairly cheap poster--but supposedly rather rare? But really, it's not much to look at. I bought it because... I remember when this obscurity came out. Although I never saw it, it appeared to be some low-rent ANIMAL HOUSE wannabe. I was always curious... I bought it on disk (with THE CHEERING SECTION) on a clearance sale for old CODE RED products. (I guess that company went out of business?) I haven't watched it yet as I read the disk was taken directly from two very badly worn VHS sources. Oh well. I'll get to it someday. Maybe. The poster will go in a drawer. Whoopie... STA...
