Monster A GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show

 June 21, 2016, 06:24:18 PM I'm home sick today. Waaaagh! Anyway, I was working on my next posting and there were just too many posters (14 so far). So, since I like to post 10 or fewer at a time, I decided to just slap these extraneous (and kind of dull--but then, there's not really much to get excited about in the next regular post either) four on here as an "I'm home sick BONUS POST"! PAGAN ISLAND: I had no idea what this movie was---and it was really nothing I needed--but it looked cheesy and quasi-tiki...and dig the stupid monster. Ha! ISLAND WOMEN : Whipped by hurricane passions...in the sin center of the Caribbean. Ha!  ISLAND WOMEN! Another poster I didn't need that was cheap. Kind of fun. Whatever. March 24, 2016, 02:18:03 PM Hi there. Thank you all for visiting. Here are the two posters I "won" last night via sniping (which I had forgotten about). I just want them off the slate so I can try and jump start the promise to myself to buy only things I NEED. Fingers crossed I can stick to it. You can't expect me to just go cold turkey, can you?) And now, on to the Shock-A-Rama Poster Show! HERCULES THE INVINCIBLE (Italian) : You know I love my Hercules movies... Clearly, this flick has come towards the end of the Sword & Sandal era.  They didn't even bother to commission an artist for the poster--just stuck some photos on and called it good. MACISTE IN THE LAND OF THE CYCLOPS (Italian) : Another that I believe came towards the end of the genre's popularity. The poster is okay---but I am sure the lead actor's name is Gordon Mitchell...NOT Mitchell Gordon. Did they bother to fix it? Nope. Ha! SAMSON AND HIS MIGHTY CHALLENGE (Italian) : This is brilliant on the part of the Italian filmmakers...getting the 4 mightiest heroes of the peplum genr...

August 10, 2015, 03:34:15 AM I'm back...with everything else I'll have for a long, long, l-o-n-g time, with the exception of the three I still can't talk about yet. THE SPECTRE OF EDGAR ALLAN POE: First off...something I have no idea why I bought it (and I certainly have no memory of even buying it...but it's here), THE SPECTRE OF EDGAR ALLAN POE. I know NOTHING about this movie and the poster make it look like low budget crap. Oh well. (And yes, I am still in a grumpy mood...) THE TINGLER: Finally mine--after a zillion years of hunting for one--is William Castle's gimmick-a-go-go flick-a-rama classic, "THE TINGLER"! Hot diggity. I have ALL of Castle's horror one sheets now...with the exception of one (that is beyond expensive and I'll never own it). That is okay--at least I got this one. Yippie! I was only supposed to be buying bucket list stuff from here on out).  I also need your help/opinion on an item I got within the last week as well. (More on that at the bottom of this entry.) ALADDIN AND HIS MAGIC LAMP: First, it's yet another one of my kiddie matinee posters from the 60's/early 70's. This one is another Childhood Productions poster for "Aladdin and his Magic Lamp". Again, this is presented in Storybook Color...and (zowie!) Storybookscope!!!  Ooooo. It was also "Never before shown anywhere" ...except maybe in the Soviet Union where this film was originally made? May 25, 2015, 03:00:06 AM Hi there!  I was waiting until I got 10 new posters...but, at 9, I was just too excited to wait any longer to share. It's a bumper crop of International posters...something I have very few of. The amazing thing is, almost all of them are English versions of International posters (many I've seen the same posters in other languages).  None are all that great, but I am ever so pleased to get them! Yippie!! First off, wow! Wow! WOW!!!  I never thought I'd score one of these---but here is the French version (ooo la la!) of the original "PLANET OF THE APES" !  For years I resisted buying foreign posters over US one sheets. I'd seen this over the years many times--and loved it. I thought (and STILL think) it is the BEST version poster for the film. May 18, 2015, 01:09:15 PM Since I can't sleep...okay!  Here is more schlock from the last 1-3 years. Okay, yes this first poster is for some adult movie from the 70s called "HEATWAVE" . No, I've never seen it but I had to have it because... Well, back before email, I used to do this quirky thing. I used to write long letters to friends and then I would decorate the envelopes as if they were mini-movie posters for amazing epics that never existed. I'm no artists, so I made all of these xerox copies out of old movie ads from newspapers and would cut them up and create "new" ads with them. I came across an ad for "Heatwave" and used it (and other ads) in my envelope movie poster for a new sequel to "THE OMEN" called "THE OWOMEN". To make the title, I cut out the letters of "THE OMEN" and flipped an "M" upsides for the "W". I used the lady with the devil snake as the main art with the catch ph...
