Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 100

 June 14, 2016, 12:11:02 AM

Hi there. I just survived 3 days (36 hours) of 12-hour shifts. To celebrate, I thought I'd do a little mini-posting before my regularly scheduled posting in 2 days. These are all recent purchases, but most of these are things you've seen before on my thread--repeated buys--so why save them?

THE LOST WORLD OF SINBAD:

Another poster I already have (I think it's in that ancient video of mine showing my framed posters), but I think it's a better copy. Trading up... This Sinbad may seem obscure to you. It's NOT really a Sinbad film. It's a Japanese adventure fantasy film that was redubbed a Sinbad flick when it was imported to the US. That was NOT the original intent of the film makers. I've not since this Sinbad yet, but it would probably be strange watching a Japanese actor playing "Sinbad" after Kerwin Matthews or Patrick Wayne or whoever.

MOVIE STAR AMERICAN STYLE OR LSD I HATE YOU:

And ANOTHER repeat. I just got one of these a few months ago. I LOVE it. The faux Marilyn, the ditzy text {"Who am I?" "How did LSD change my life?"), the colorful, yet cheesy framing. It's just so campy wonderful. This was a better copy (and a CHEAPER copy! Ha!).

THE STUFF :

Ha!  I just realized I "won" this as a multi-poster lot a while back--and never knew it. Not that I needed or wanted it...but, whoo hoo...another poster!

MISTRESS OF THE APES:

I have this poster already as well. I've never seen the flick--but like the poster.

That's it for now---just a little appetizer before my usual posting which should go up sometime Wednesday. Check back then, if you'd like.

And now to get me some much deserved SLEEP!

Good night, kiddies!

CHEERS!

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024 #5

And I'm back... This, I think, will be my final post of new posters. I had a few leftover posters from last time...and got others to fill out this post and get this done. I can't afford anything anymore and really, with my diminishing health, I should STOP collecting.  TANYA'S ISLAND: This was a cheap grab. I've never seen the movie, but have long wanted this poster. It's so doofy looking. This movie has been on my radar since its release--and it is amazingly hard to find. (As I said, I have NOT seen it yet.) From what I understand, it's basically KING KONG, but with a normal-sized ape (aka man in a bad moneky suit--based on the pictures I've seen) and a bit naughtier. (Hence the R-rating.) D.D. Winters is better known as Vanity, Prince's protegee back in the 80s. She apparently spends a good deal of the time naked. It's supposed to be bad. (No surprise.) I'd still like to see it. HOT DOG: THE MOVIE: I don't know why I bought this. I'm...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024: Special Edition #1

Welcome back to the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. This edition is a bit different. As you may know, with certain exceptions that may come my way, I've by and large stopped buying posters. This post isn't about new posters. Instead it is about my first experiencing linenbacking posters.  If you've read any of my posts before, you will know that I am NO FAN of linenbacked posters. However, as my collecting days were slowing/coming to an end, getting things on linen seemed to be the only way I'd be ever able to enjoy certain posters if I wanted them. I now have several linenbacked posters in my collection. I'm about to have four more... I am still working through a move I made 2 years ago. I am trying to get  my poster collection organized in some sort of manner. I am still going through boxes and tubes, trying to frame them or add them to my flat file drawers (or set them aside for either auction or to donate to thrift stores). During one such effort to (stupidly) pull...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024: #6

I wasn't planning on buying any more posters. On top of all of my other many health ailments, I have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. That is effectively taking me out of the game permanently. However, I have a handful of posters I had purchased or had bids on (but didn't expect to win). These leftovers (and there are -- gasp! --15 of them!?!) I'm not planning on sharing on other poster websites as I usually do. They are just here to be complete. THE ANTICHRIST (Australian) : I love the EXORCIST ripoffs.  THE ANTICHRIST isn't one of the better ones--but, this is a poster I hadn't seen before...and it was cheap. CARNAL MADNESS: Never heard of this one--which is why I bought it. EVIL DEAD (2009 re-release) : Not that I needed this (I have the original one sheet already), I thought it would be fun to pick up this rerelease one sheet from Grindhouse Releaseing. MALIBU HORROR STORY: I had a couple of these already. However, both were damaged (one severely so). I c...
