Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 73

December 13, 2015, 11:21:13 PM

Hello. I'm back...posting 10 more recent acquisitions. Besides this post, I think I have enough for about 2 or 3 more posts. Once they're are all posted, that's it for the year. And I'll only be back occasionally next year.

KING KONG VS GODZILLA (Italian):

Drat it all. This was supposed to be in the post earlier this morning. Grrr. When I stumbled on this poster (the third different one , I think, with this same title...but I liked this one the best), I thought it must be a re-titling. THE TRIUMPH OF KING KONG? Never heard of it. imagine my surprise when I discovered it was actually KING KONG VS GODZILLA! Ha!

SUSPIRIA (Spanish):

Another groovy SUSPIRIA poster. Still dig the US one sheet best, but anything SUSPIRIA is SUSPIRIAstic!

TRAUMA (Italian):

I've not seen this flick yet (what else is new?), but it was an Italian Argento...THUMBS UP!

BARBARIAN MASTER (Italian):

I had no idea what this was when i bought. i still don't knoiw what it is now that i found the US title. i bought this poster because it made me laugh out loud. Check out the molten-hot sword rising from the bowl...or maybe from his crotch? Ha! How phallic can you get? TOO funny. Apparently this is some 80s CONAN wannabe.

FRIDAY THE 13TH (remake British quad):

About the only thing I can say that was positive about the remake of FRIDAY THE 13TH was that it had a cool poster. Not as cool as the original, but better than say... part 2, 3, 4, or 5. Ha!

HORROR EXPRESS:

This was kind of an oops!  I had just been contemplating an Italian HORROR EXPRESS when a dealer sent me a list of items he had for sale. This guy is reputable and I trust his grading. The only thing is--there were no pictures available. I saw HORROR EXPRESS very reasonably priced and snatched it up...and then I realized (snore) this was the boring reddish US poster and NOT the cool Italian poster I had been (evil) eyeing. Waaagh!

HORROR EXPRESS (Italian):

So, darn it all, I had to go back and buy the Italian version as well.

SLEEPING BEAUTY (French re-release):

My 2nd (and probably final) poster ever for Disney's SLEEPING BEAUTY. Again, as with the other US one sheet for the film i got, why does Prince Erik get his self on there twice, when the titular start girl only gets on the poster once? Ha!

THE OMEN (Czech):

Oooooo I wanted this for a while. It will make a nice companion piece to my US and Turkish OMEN posters!

SOCIETY (Italian):

Last poster for the evening (good, because i need to get to bed. i have to be up at 5 am for work in the morning. Blah!) is the Italian poster for the cult horror flick SOCIETY. Different art (I think I prefer the US one...but I have NOT been able to get one.)

Okay---I know it's early, but it's pumpkin time for me.

Good night!

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2023: #10

Welcome back! I certainly did NOT expect to have any further posts with new purchases this 2023 calendar year, but here we are. Granted, most of these are holdover purchases from my temporary poster-buying insanity in October. I’d expected those to be the foundation for whatever post I kicked off the new year with. But now? I had a few more pick ups… Why hold back? Let’s send 2023 out with a real BANG! Christmas came a little early this year. Uh oh… The lights are dimming. Take your seats. Let’s see what I have for you this time… GIRL IN GOLD BOOTS:  Not a great poster, but one I’ve been after for a while. This flick is an exploitationer from legendary B man Ted V. Mikels (CORPSE GRINDERS, ASTRO-ZOMBIES, BLOOD ORGY OF THE SHE-DEVILS, etc.). I saw it years ago. I don’t remember much other than that there is a girl (who wears gold go-go boots) who is a dancer (and maybe sings?) and is somehow involved in the criminal underworld. Like a lot of Mikels’ films…it doesn’t leave an indelible m

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2023 #9

Welcome! Get your tickets and take your seat. The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show is about to begin. I am still disabled and only getting worse…yet, uh, um…I’m spending money on my ADDICTION to posters that I really have NO BUSINESS doing. Why? Because I am STUPID. (But I LOVE staring at them…) Waaaaagh! Anyway—-my stupidity is your viewing pleasure (or however you want to term it…).  Here we go… THE LADY IN THE MORGUE (1942 RE-RELEASE) : This isn't something that I'd usually buy. I've never seen this old mystery/whodunit flick. Despite this being a re-release poster (The original, with completely different art, hails from 1938.), I decided to go ahead and buy this 81-year-old gem for several reasons. I like the monster-ish hands reaching in at the couple. I dig the purple/green color scheme. The old school font is awesome...and one of its co-stars is Barbara Pepper, who brilliantly played Mrs. Ziffel (Arnold the pig's "mom") on GREEN ACRES. Ha! The most important r

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2023 #6

And we're back... So soon? Well... Yes. I was naughty and bought a pair of poster lots again. No, I'm not going to post every single poster in the lots I bought. Many I already have. Many I could have done without. One batch (folded) was an OOPS. I thought I was bidding on a different lot. Ha! Dumb me. There really wasn't anything in it I was after. The other lot (rolled) only contained 2 items I wanted. Isn't that usually the case? But  I did find an item or two I didn't have and was mildly curious about. There were also some non-lot purchases as well this time.  But...I'm yammering. Let's just take a look, shall we?  B.C. ROCK: This is one of those "mildly curious" posters that happened to be in the rolled lot. This looks vaguely familiar but I never saw it. It seems to be some animated flick with a lot of music...and is R-rated.  Hmm.  What caught my eye was the caveman who seemed to be hanging on to this rather phallic-looking rock. WHAT? On
