Monster A GoGo's Shock-A-Rama Poster Show Retro Flashback: Top 10 Poster Purchases of 2018

Every year on a movie collecting forum website I am a member of, AllPosterForum.com (or just APF) they put up a post inviting members to list their favorite purchases for the year. As happened in 2016, there is nothing but the title of each poster listed. I have again attached a link (just click the title of each poster) to take you to the page they were originally posted on if you would like more information. Here is my contribution to the post from 2018:





The year is winding down. As we have in the past, I thought I'd jump in and start the list of our favorite purchases of the year. For me, it was not a banner year....but I still had some jewels mixed in with the crap. Here are my favorite purchases this year:

  And I'm back... This, I think, will be my final post of new posters. I had a few leftover posters from last time...and got others to fill out this post and get this done. I can't afford anything anymore and really, with my diminishing health, I should STOP collecting.  TANYA'S ISLAND: This was a cheap grab. I've never seen the movie, but have long wanted this poster. It's so doofy looking. This movie has been on my radar since its release--and it is amazingly hard to find. (As I said, I have NOT seen it yet.) From what I understand, it's basically KING KONG, but with a normal-sized ape (aka man in a bad moneky suit--based on the pictures I've seen) and a bit naughtier. (Hence the R-rating.) D.D. The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024: Special Edition #1

  Welcome back to the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. This edition is a bit different. As you may know, with certain exceptions that may come my way, I've by and large stopped buying posters. This post isn't about new posters. Instead it is about my first experiencing linenbacking posters.  If you've read any of my posts before, you will know that I am NO FAN of linenbacked posters. However, as my collecting days were slowing/coming to an end, getting things on linen seemed to be the only way I'd be ever able to enjoy certain posters if I wanted them. I now have several linenbacked posters in my collection. I'm about to have four more... I am still working through a move I made 2 years ago. I am trying to get  my poster collection organized in some sort of manner. I am still going through boxes and tubes, trying to frame them or add them to my flat file drawers (or set them aside for either auction or to donate to thrift stores). The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024: #6

I wasn't planning on buying any more posters. On top of all of my other many health ailments, I have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. That is effectively taking me out of the game permanently. However, I have a handful of posters I had purchased or had bids on (but didn't expect to win). These leftovers (and there are -- gasp! --15 of them!?!) I'm not planning on sharing on other poster websites as I usually do. They are just here to be complete. THE ANTICHRIST (Australian) : I love the EXORCIST ripoffs.  THE ANTICHRIST isn't one of the better ones--but, this is a poster I hadn't seen before...and it was cheap. CARNAL MADNESS: Never heard of this one--which is why I bought it. EVIL DEAD (2009 re-release) : Not that I needed this (I have the original one sheet already), I thought it would be fun to pick up this rerelease one sheet from Grindhouse Releaseing.
