Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 113

September 21, 2016, 02:42:08 PM

Hi there. Thank you for stopping in. I am STILL moving. It's kind of on hold until October as i have a very important project due by October 1st. I had some friends come to town to help with the initial move...but they got burned out after a day or so....So even though one friend stayed around for a week (!), we didn't get much done beyond those initial few days. Oh well.

Getting back to the poster room progress, the bulk of my framed posters still remain in the shack-0-rama waiting to be moved. I have realized that, unless I want to use all of the closet space (like I did when i lived here before with these 200+ framed posters), I'm going to have to store them as i did in the shack-o-rama...on their sides and piled UP. They were store three high in the shack-o-rama. I'll take a picture the next time I'm there (if there are still posters on the top row, that is...). I'll have to get little labels to put on the ends of the frames so I'll know which is which.

My poster room is getting so crowded/full. I have 9 boxes of folded posters and tons o' other crap as well....with still MORE boxes of folded posters and MORE tubes still at the apartment. Yikes!  I can't wait to go through it all though.

My buying has also slowed way down. In the coming posts, you;ll see things from August for quite a while. Oh well...

Anyway, thank you for visiting my humble page.

CHEERS!

Here's a look at the shack-o-rama where most of them are still stacked up, laying on their side, three rows high...(top row is almost all of the way pulled down and moved already--but it was FULL at one time).  Please excuse the mess:

More tubes and a few loose (!?!) posters home tonight (along with various boxes o' crap). O' the joy... Will this move EVER end?

Thanks for visiting the thread.

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024 #5

And I'm back... This, I think, will be my final post of new posters. I had a few leftover posters from last time...and got others to fill out this post and get this done. I can't afford anything anymore and really, with my diminishing health, I should STOP collecting.  TANYA'S ISLAND: This was a cheap grab. I've never seen the movie, but have long wanted this poster. It's so doofy looking. This movie has been on my radar since its release--and it is amazingly hard to find. (As I said, I have NOT seen it yet.) From what I understand, it's basically KING KONG, but with a normal-sized ape (aka man in a bad moneky suit--based on the pictures I've seen) and a bit naughtier. (Hence the R-rating.) D.D. Winters is better known as Vanity, Prince's protegee back in the 80s. She apparently spends a good deal of the time naked. It's supposed to be bad. (No surprise.) I'd still like to see it. HOT DOG: THE MOVIE: I don't know why I bought this. I'm...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024: Special Edition #1

Welcome back to the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. This edition is a bit different. As you may know, with certain exceptions that may come my way, I've by and large stopped buying posters. This post isn't about new posters. Instead it is about my first experiencing linenbacking posters.  If you've read any of my posts before, you will know that I am NO FAN of linenbacked posters. However, as my collecting days were slowing/coming to an end, getting things on linen seemed to be the only way I'd be ever able to enjoy certain posters if I wanted them. I now have several linenbacked posters in my collection. I'm about to have four more... I am still working through a move I made 2 years ago. I am trying to get  my poster collection organized in some sort of manner. I am still going through boxes and tubes, trying to frame them or add them to my flat file drawers (or set them aside for either auction or to donate to thrift stores). During one such effort to (stupidly) pull...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2024: #6

I wasn't planning on buying any more posters. On top of all of my other many health ailments, I have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. That is effectively taking me out of the game permanently. However, I have a handful of posters I had purchased or had bids on (but didn't expect to win). These leftovers (and there are -- gasp! --15 of them!?!) I'm not planning on sharing on other poster websites as I usually do. They are just here to be complete. THE ANTICHRIST (Australian) : I love the EXORCIST ripoffs.  THE ANTICHRIST isn't one of the better ones--but, this is a poster I hadn't seen before...and it was cheap. CARNAL MADNESS: Never heard of this one--which is why I bought it. EVIL DEAD (2009 re-release) : Not that I needed this (I have the original one sheet already), I thought it would be fun to pick up this rerelease one sheet from Grindhouse Releaseing. MALIBU HORROR STORY: I had a couple of these already. However, both were damaged (one severely so). I c...
