The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2017 #11 -- Here's the Latest Movie Poster Update A-GoGo*#

Grab your popcorn. It's time for another update-a-go-go of my movie poster acquisitions. While this bunch is a lackluster batch for the most part (Again?!), there are a couple (towards the bottom) I am excited about. Take a gander, if you please---or not. THE WIZARD OF OZ (3D re-release) : Here is the PG version of the recent WIZARD OF OZ IMAX 3D re-release. I have several copies already, but OZ is a classic and hello? This was only $2. How could I say no? This and the next few below were overlooked bargains from a recent auction. THE AMITYVILLE CURSE (Video release) : This was possibly the WORST flick in the AMITYVILLE series...until everyone with a camera started making their own movies. UGH! Still, as bad as this flick is, I did NOT have this video one sheet (although I do have the boring British movie theater one sheet). I just needed this to round out my collection---but could have done without it. it was only $5. STAR WARS (Special...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show -- First poster sales---an UPDATE

A while back on my main blog, I reported about being broke (You can see it HERE ). I was writing some articles and selling some of my movie posters. As of this writing, I have one of the four articles I had planned written and submitted. Carey, my former boss at The Fresno Bee, did tell me that they would be using it and had me send in an invoice. I will be paid $400. That's good---I just have to wait a bit longer for the cash. The posters I quickly sent to auction have, for the most part, NOT fared so well. Some have yet to go on auction...but, by and large, most of them have sold. I posted their dismal closing prices next to the photos I hastily took of them before I packed them off. They were stuff I didn't want-- duplicates or things that I just didn't "need". I really did NOT expect them to do well, but... Today I got my first check for five of the posters that sold in October. It was sad. Because the prices were so low, the commissions were so high. Thos...

Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 55

November 07, 2015, 03:31:29 AM  So I'm BACK, from outer space! I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face. I should have changed that stupid lock. I should have made you leave your key... Why the heck am I writing the lyrics to an old disco song?  Ha! But I really am back from outer space. I circled Uranus and barely escaped the gravitational pull of a giant black hole! If it hadn't been for a blast of some evil and deadly space gas that escaped from the black hole and knocked me free from its gravitational clutches, who knows what horrors I might have encountered? EEEK! Yeah, I'm BORED!!! Hello! How are you? How was your Halloween? I got out of town and...did absolutely NOTHING. Waaagh! My favorite holiday shot to hell again. Waaaagh! But I'm back on. I was planning to stay away longer---but my poster addiction won't let me. Ha! And, of course, I picked up a few things (there was this out of this world little poster shop ...

Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 54

October 26, 2015, 08:28:10 PM  Howdy! Here is the last of my new (to me) poster purchases from the last several weeks. Once I get this posted, I intend to "take a break" from the Forum for a while. Since being off of work, I've spent far too much time shopping for posters (literally CHARGING up thousands of dollars in the process. Smart!  NOT!) and spending way too much time online perusing the forum (and drooling all over the screen while looking at other scrumptious posters...and then going shopping some more, and continuing the vicious and costly cycle!). There are so many OTHER things I need to do or could be doing instead. I could write some articles for the newspaper (and earn some much needed CASH), I could pack up stuff to send to auction, I could write the (Not-So-) Great American Novel, or I could clean my bathroom (o' the horror!). Heck, just getting my laundry put away would be a major achievement. I'm sure I won't be away long--I'm such a...

Monster-A-GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show RECREATION # 53

October 24, 2015, 02:08:42 AM Yes, more posters a go-go below-O! Here we go-go: BEASTMASTER (Thai) : First of all, the one shown is NOT my copy. The photo of the one I got was kind of hard to see--so I "borrowed" this one from online. But mine does not have the water (?) rolls in it. Isn't this a cool image. I always liked the US poster, but this one adds an extra dimension that the US one can't beat. Just gorgeous Thai work. BREATHLESS (Thai) : Another Thai beauty...and for this one, I have Steve in mind obviously. Ha! The Thai version kind of mimics the US poster with the random things placed on the poster (the gun, the car, the photo, etc.), but where the US poster leaves off, the Thai takes off in fantastic ways. Zowie! Another awesome poster. THE SINKING OF JAPAN aka TIDAL WAVE (French) : I like my disaster flicks. I saw TIDAL WAVE (the US version with stupid scenes of Lorne Greene edited in--a la Raymond Burr in the original GO...
