The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #20

I’m back… Yes, I am still uber-poor and yes, I’m still going through chemotherapy (and will be through March, according to the oncologist. After that, we will see…). But going poster cold turkey is hard… especially while spending so much time in bed. So… despite my limited resources, I still have posters to share with you today. (Hmm… Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I guess that remains to be seen…) Let’s go ahead and take a look at them. Why delay any further?

THE NEW EROTIC ADVENTURES OF CASANOVA:

I have found a few posters that I purchased in the past several months that were never posted. This is one of them. It’s another poster I would never display. I have actually been after a variation of this poster for a while for the dumbest of reasons. The other version is basically the same, except  the heart around the “The”  of the title is not there… and the star’s claim to fame can be seen. Really? That’s what I have been trying to track down? So stupid. I’d certainly never display that either. I bought this copy, even though it is the heart version, because it was the closest I got to the other one…and it was cheap.

THE CONJURING: LAST RITES:

I know I saw the most recent version of THE CONJURING… but I don’t remember it. Ha! I do remember the ending, where it talked about the fates of the real Ed and Lorraine Warren and their daughter and her husband. I also remember the scene in the garage when the boyfriend asks Ed to marry his daughter…but the actual plot? I don’t recall. It doesn’t matter. Why get the poster? It was free, courtesy of my local theater.

THE CONJURING: LAST RITES (Teaser):
While this is a fun image, I’ll never display it. I’ve already said I forgot the plot of this flick. Why get the poster? It was another free one. Thank you Oak Harbor Cinemas

STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE:

In a moment of weakness, although I can’t afford anything, I went poster shopping on eBay. I visited trusted posted dealer Dale Dilts eBay storefront, movieposters4u. I looked through several pages of posters. Eventually I picked this and a couple of others. I’m not a STAR WARS person, but I thought this might be something popular—so I bought it as an investment down the road. Is this for a movie or a TV show? Hmm…

I do want to see this, but have not had a chance to yet. A friend saw it and raved about it. The poster… I’m not wild about the artwork… will never be hung. But it was free from the theater. Free? Sold!

ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER:
Another free poster from my local theater. Awesome.  Thank you!

STAR WARS: THE MADALORIAN AND GROGU:

Another poster from Dale… this one appears to be for a theatrical film. I do like the old school look to it. But, again, I’m not a STAR WARS guy. I just bought it as an investment.

I have no idea what this is. I’d never heard of it before. But lately, as more and more movies go straight to streaming with very limited theatrical releases…and the coming wave of digital posters (ugh!), I’ve been keen on picking up some of the more obscure titles I come across. This was also something I found at Dale’s eBay storefront.

I’m still not sure how I feel about this movie. It was very different…and Amy Madigan was brilliant in her role. I missed a chance to buy this a while back…I just need to watch my Pennie’s. Fortunately I got my copy (actually two copies) from my local theater…for free! Yahoo!

FIEND OF DOPE ISLAND:

Here is another title I bought a while back but never got around to posting. This 1961 piece o’ exploitation trash is the poster I’m most excited about. Bruce Bennett, best known for films like MILDRED PIERCE, DARK PASSAGE, and TREASURE OF SIERRA MADRE, before his star faded and he ended up in schlock like THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE. He was actually cast as the first talking TARZAN before a shoulder injury lead to the part being recast with Johnny Weissmuller. Bennett did eventually play TARZAN in the serial THE NEW ADVENTURES OF TARZAN under the name Herman Brix. Bennett not only starred in FIEND OF DOPE ISLAND, but co-wrote the film as well. It was filmed in 1959 but not released until 1961.

And that’s my 10 for this time. Most of it (50%) was free stuff… , but not too shabby overall, considering my very limited budget. And, I will be back sooner rather than later. I have a few more forgotten purchases to share, some more free items, and a few ultra cheap pickups. Stay tuned…if you dare! Thanks for visiting. Cheers!

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #12

Hi there. Yes, I’m back again. Really, I was in a weird, crazed buying frenzy recently. I have enough posters for at least one and a half more posts… But I’ll try to pace myself and hold back a bit. These aren’t that exciting. Actually, neither is the next batch. The batch after that has one or two things I’m especially excited about, but we’ll have to see what trickles in to fill the rest of that post up. But I’m getting ahead of myself. We are on this post. Let’s take a gander at it,  shall we? I hope it won’t be too disappointing. Perhaps there’ll be a poster on here or two that you haven’t seen before. THE QUIET EARTH: While I think I’ve heard of this movie before, and I think I may have seen this poster before, I’m not quite sure. If I have seen this poster before, I don’t think I actually owned it. Like my last post, this has a few posters that were part of several lots. No, I am not posting all of the posters in the lots. Not all of them appealed to me. This one, thou...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #13

Hello. Here we are again. There’s nothing new to see here. Every poster is either VHS-era garbage or something you’ve seen before. There is one outlier that doesn’t seem to belong, but it’s one that I’ve been looking for forever. Even though I wasn’t actively looking for it when I finally got it. Huh? Never mind. Let’s just take a look and see what we have today… CURSE III: BLOOD SACRIFICE (video) :  I don’t know what I was thinking when I decided to track down the posters for THE CURSE series . For those who have never seen it or heard of it, THE CURSE series is a mostly direct-to-video series of horror flick that are NOT related to each other at all, except by title. I have the theatrical (I think) one sheet for the original movie. I’m not sure if I have a copy of the part two poster or not, and I may have copies of parts three and four already… Or not. I am not sure. But here is the poster for CURSE III: BLOOD SACRIFICE. Yes, as you can, guess, it was cheap. Did I see the movie...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #11

Welcome back. Now that the James Bond stuff is out of the way (see my last post), I can trudge to some B-movie stuff. A lot of this stuff came from lot purchases. I have a lot of these posters already, and have shared them in previous posts. Not all of the posters from the various lot purchases will be shared. Don’t panic. I’ve just decided to share these as a way to look back at these B-flicks and reflect on them a bit. THE MEPHISTO WALTZ: This was an early movie in the 70s satanic panic cycle, that was started with ROSEMARY’S BABY in the mid 60s. If you haven’t seen it, you’re not really missing much. What I do remember most from the commercials was a dog with a human head. Imagine my annoyance when it just turned out to be a dog with a mask on its head that someone placed on it as a joke. There was no “human headed” dog in the plot. Alan Alda I identify so much with being Hawkeye on M*A*S*H, that it’s hard to see him in this movie. At least for me, this is an instance where it’s har...
