Welcome back! While I still have a few outstanding bids as I write this (and I’ll probably be outbid on all of it), I believe my bidding/buying mania has subsided. Thank goodness. Barring wins on those few things still outstanding, this will hopefully be my LAST post (at least of new purchases. I’m working on one on going through my poster rolls, framing, etc.) for a long while. So, I hope you already grabbed your Goobers and Jujubes because the show is starting now. Why wait??? The lights are dimming…
BRING HER BACK:
I already got one of these, not too long back, but it got damaged in the mail. This one apparently has a slight damage to the upper side, but I risked it anyway. I haven’t seen the movie although I know it’s out now. It will probably never come to my town. But this poster kind of creeps me out. The movie is probably gonna suck, and I probably should’ve waited for words to get out whether it’s good or not, but I just couldn’t not get a copy of this poster while one was available and a decent price. It’s just too freaky.
This is another poster I already have. However, when my original showed up, it had been damaged. This is simply a replacement. I’ve never even seen this movie. Is it any good? The poster is kind of boring. Hmm. It also looks folded here. I believe the poster I ordered was rolled? Maybe the fold lines are made to look like the poster result and it’s not really folded? Sometimes I think I should wait to post pictures until after. I actually have the actual item.
I am sure I already have this poster, but it’s one of the more popular titles in the franchise and it was not that expensive, so why not? I don’t need it. Maybe the devil made me do it! Oh my!
I got this poster not that long ago… I would say, less than a year ago? The artwork, stolen from another one sheet from a few years earlier (I forget which one) is darn awesome. However, when the one I ordered before arrived, it was damaged. Hence this replacement. The movie, FRIGHTMARE, as I recall is awful.
Although I may have one already, OK… I picked up this copy BLUE MONKEY. I have no idea what this movie is other than what I read about it briefly and skimmingly on IMDB. For years, I wasn’t sure if it was a horror movie or a comedy or what it was. I’m still not sure, but IMDB listed it as a horror/sci-fi movie. Why would I think it was a comedy possibly? Well,
John Vernon is best known for his role
ANIMAL HOUSE.
Joe Flaherty is only (?) known for his work on
SCTV. I’m pretty sure I might have a copy of this already and it’s not a great poster… Is the guy on it screaming or laughing or just saying hi? But it’s interesting enough and I do look at it every time I am perusing posters for sale. Why not? It was less than $10.

For years, I resisted buying video posters. That slowly gave away when I realized that many things were released straight to video and there would be no theatrical one sheet for them. While I’m NOT the science fiction fan, I have seen all of the episodes of the original STAR TREK. They were syndicated all my life long so how could I have not seen them growing up? But I’m really not a fan. I’ve only seen a handful of the
NEXT GENERATION series and an episode here and there of some of the others. I couldn’t even name all the STAR TREK spinoffs and sequels. When I spotted this video poster for the original series, my initial thought was to pass on it. And then I looked at it again. It’s 26 1/2 x 40 so it’s basically the same size as a regular poster these days. The Art on it is pretty good, with the likenesses of the crew being nicely rendered. Video poster or not, I thought this would be a wise investment for the future. How many video posters have survived do you think? Except for a few of the fathom events showings of some of the original STAR TREK episodes (of which I do have at least one of the one sheets), there really isn’t a “movie poster“, for the series. It’s such an iconic show and so popular, that I thought it would be a good investment. The fact that it says videocassette on it… Too funny and so space age! Ha! Wow, it’s amazing how far technology has come in just a short amount of time.

HOWARD THE DUCK:
Oh my stars! I never saw this movie. I remember when it came out, it was a huge bomb. Flop-O-Rama!!! I believe Lea Thompson was fresh from BACK TO THE FUTURE?? Or perhaps this was just before? I don’t know. I remember that the HOWARD THE DUCK comic books ere kind of a big deal when I was a kid. I started buying them around issue nine or so, but I never read them. When the movie came out, I was just as freaked out as everyone else seemed to be by the main character. WTF!?! Back in the day, I believe these posters were pretty darn cheap. I saw one recently and picked it up to pad out shipping. It wasn’t five dollars cheap, but it wasn’t that expensive and it took me back to when I was younger, and the movie was coming out. I still can’t believe they made this movie. Is it even available anywhere? I don’t even know if I can bring myself to watch this. It looks like such a disaster. But then, bad movies are my middle name.

I have no idea what this is. The negative image on the poster intrigued me. I hope this turns out to be a good horror movie. It’s got a good director. But… Maybe this is already come and gone? I really don’t know anything about it.
This movie is probably going to be C-R-A-P, but as an EXORCIST-ripoff, I’m so gonna be there. The fact that they got
Al Pacino to star is amazing. Of course
Russell Crowe did two back to back EXORCIST rip offs,
THE POPE’S EXORCIST and
THE EXORCISM (which I still haven’t seen…). Since it is supposed to be inspired by the “true story”, let’s hope that they restrain themselves from too much CGI and keep it subtle. I think that would be best. When it gets too overblown, it loses all of it believability. If you can believe in this stuff anyway. But I am looking forward to it and I am very curious as to how Al Pacino will do in such a role in this kind of movie.
HOUSE OF DRACULA (60s military rerelease):
OK, so it’s a re-release, and it’s a military poster… Do you think I would ever be able to afford one of these now if it weren’t? I am more than happy to have this. As everybody knows, Universal horror paper is nearly impossible to get. While I do have a some various pieces from the various Universal series (NOTHING from THE MUMMY series though, as of yet), three of them have only been military posters. I am more than okay with that and have displayed them proudly. This is another I will be thrilled to have on my walls (eventually). Whoo hoo!
And that is my 10 for this time. I am writing this weeks in advance. I have three or four other posts ready to go ahead of this one. As I said at the top, I hope this is the last one for a long while. I can’t afford anything. However, I also said that I have a few outstanding bids that have yet to close. Well, I don’t wanna be back anytime soon, never say never. Let’s just say I’ll see you when I see you. Thanks for visiting the page. Cheers!
