The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #18

Welcome back!!! I know my last post was decidedly boring. This one isn’t much better. Oh sure, there are a couple of interesting bits here and there. But, by and large,  there really isn’t much to see here either. But let’s not dawdle. Let’s get this show on the road.…

WARLOCK:

The late Julian Sands starred in this so-so horror film. There was a sequel as well, but I believe it went straight to video. This was part of a lot. I got in an auction. No big deal.

Normally, I would avoid posters for sequels. The. KARATE KID series does nothing for me. I know I saw the original back in the day in the theater. I think I even saw the sequel in the theater. But, I never jumped on the. KARATE KID bandwagon. It just didn’t work for me. But I had a chance to get this one and it’s rolled, not folded… I got it because of… (scroll down)

THE KARATE KID:
I got this poster as an investment. I’ve already said I wasn’t a fan of the series. But after three sequels (?) And TV series, I’m aware that this series has its fans. I can sell it if I need to.

I saw this when it came out back in the day. I was less than impressed. I had such high hopes for this Joe Dante film, but was horribly disappointed. Oh well. This was part of a lot.

Another lot purchase. Don’t worry, I’m not sharing every single poster in the lot. I saw this film when it came out. I remember distinctly going to see it with my grandmother. I didn’t need this poster. I already have a copy, in fact. As a kid, I remember this movie being kind of fun. It had a gimmick as well, “Sound 360”—which I’m guessing was an early form of Surround Sound? But this flick seems to have totally vanished from anybody’s radar these days. If I watched it today, I’m sure I would be disappointed.

This was not a lot purchase. I actually bought this on its own. I have a copy of this already. I bought this because it was cheap. This movie is basically an alien rip off with a robot instead of an alien. It’s terrorizing Kirk Douglas, and Farrah Fawcett on one of Saturn’s moons. Harvey Keitel is in the mix as well. It’s kind of silly. And it’s kind of a cool poster.

I already have a copy of this poster, and this copy has more wear than I am usually OK with. I was fascinated by this movie as a kid. The remake was a mess. Is this movie even well regarded today… Or is it just forgotten?

I had never heard of this. I saw this for sale on eBay and decided to go for it. There were no other copies of this poster floating around. I looked it up. It said it was a 2024 film on IMDb. I’m guessing it was something that played festivals in 2024? I don’t know. Not long after I bought this poster, I saw that it was going to be playing in theaters for a limited time. I didn’t get to see it. It didn’t play here. That’s not surprising. But it sounds kind of interesting. I’ll have to check it out eventually. My reasoning for buying this was that it seemed to be some sort of obscure horror movie. At the time I bought it there were no other copies of the poster available. Thinking it was from 2024 and the fact that it sounded so interesting Had me buying it thinking it might be a cult hit in the poster, which was clearly not mass produced on the level of something like SUPERMAN or JURASSIC WORLD would lead to an increase in value. No idea that will come to fruition or not, but I’m glad o got it. Hopefully I get to see it and it turns out to be worthwhile.

I never saw this film, but I’ve always wanted to. I’ve always been curious about it. This poster is the closest I’ve come to seeing it so far. I know this poster is pretty common, and it was a lot purchase, but I don’t think I ever had a copy before.

I never saw this movie, but I remember when it came out. The poster for it is interesting. Getting a peek at the film on the poster does pique my interest in seeing it. It looks bizarre. I think it was also European made? I don’t know for sure. Like I said, I’ve never seen it.
And that was it… 10 mostly nothing posters. I am working on another post. Almost everything in it was free. I’ll get that up in a week or two. My interest in buying posters is waning very quickly. I got news about my health. My cancer has spread to my lungs and some lymph nodes. That doesn’t sound good at all. I haven’t talked to the doctor yet as I write this. I don’t know what the plan will be yet… Or if they’re even will be one. I’ve already been through chemo for three months. I had a major surgery and now I’ve been on immunotherapy for the last six or seven months. To have the cancer spread is a big kick in the pants… Well, I was gonna say someplace else, but… You get the idea. Oh well. We will see what happens. (UPDATE: I’m starting a new chemo regime starting next week. I’ll be getting chemo weekly for three weeks with the 4th week off… and then repeating it all. It will be awful, but what choice do I really have?) Thanks for visiting the page. Check back eventually for the next post… Which may be the last post? Let’s hope not. Cheers!

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #17

Welcome back…  This post is one of the weakest entries of late. That is saying a lot, as the previous entry was pretty bad. However, the next entry will be even more pathetic than this one. I’m winding down from my recent purchases… Finally. I can’t afford anything. But let’s take a look at when I have this time, shall we? This will be quick. SURGIKILL (special) : I’m not sure what this is. It’s only 9 1/2 x 8 1/2“ long. It is some promotional piece for Andy Milligan’s “ SURGIKILL”.  “SURGI-What!?! You’ve never heard of it, probably.  I do not know why, but I am an anti-Milligan aficionado. SURGIKILL Was one of his last movies. It went straight to  video. I caught it on DVD. It’s OK… Certainly nothing to write home about. But I couldn’t not get this piece. It is allegedly from Andy Milligan‘s estate…And was cheap. POLTERGEIST I I: Normally, I wouldn’t bother with sequel posters. But this was part of a lot. So why not? The movie itself… Not so good. THE SATAN B...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #16

Welcome back. As I write this, the very tail end of my recent poster-buying mania is coming to a close. Well, I still have to worry about auctions on Thursday of this week, it looks like I only have to worry about one poster. Whether or not I get it remains to be seen. However, at the moment, there are two posters in this post. I have one from recent auctions. One of them, the one that I am most displeased with winning, is fairly obvious. The other one, not so much. The one I may or may not win on Thursday? I think that will be obvious as well by what I intend to write about it should I win it, but we shall see. Can you figure out which posters I want in these last auctions before coming to my senses? Of the 10 title shown here two (or three) of them are from those final crazed auctions. TEENAGE COWGIRLS: What the hell was I thinking? On the tail end of my weird cancer buying spree (inspired by my seemingly surviving it—-although I’m not out of the woods yet—while two longtime friends ...

The Shock-O-Rama Poster Show 2025 #14

And welcome back… With this post, I am hopefully wrapping up all the posters I purchased in my recent mania. ( Actually, as I write this, there are still a few auctions out there. I have bids on that haven’t closed. While I doubt I’ll get anything, there’s always the worry that I will and that those purchases will spill over into another post. Eek!) As per my (sometimes) usual, I’ve got a lot of trash and a few treasures. I also have a very bad headache. So let’s get on with it already… VAN HELSING : This must’ve been a lot purchase. Although it’s based on a character. DRACULA , I had absolutely zero interest in seeing this movie. Zero. TOMB OF THE BLIND DEAD (French) : I have long been a fan of the BLIND DEAD films . To my knowledge, only three of the four were released in the US and have one sheets. The first one, TOMB OF THE BLIND DEAD , was released as just THE BLIND DEAD with a misleading poster image making it seem like a knockoff of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD .   RETUR...
